esc*productions Shortlisted for Mental Health Film

Congratulations to esc*productions, whose film with the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, Whatever Works for You, has been shortlisted for the Guardian Award for Innovation in Mental Health Services in this year’s Advancing Healthcare awards.

This award aims to find and showcase Allied Health Professionals throughout the UK, working in the NHS, local government, the independent or third sectors, who have devised unusual or creative ways of working with people who have mental health problems.

Whatever Works for You showcases the Trust’s initiatives in supporting people through their mental health difficulties into volunteering, employment or further study, and aims to give people hope by engaging in mental health services.

Kirsten Kearney, Chief Executive Officer: “esc*productions had a great time working with the Belfast Trust’s Occupational Therapy team and its volunteers, showcasing initiatives which support people through their mental health difficulties into volunteering, employment or further study. We were inspired by the true stories that we captured, by people’s bravery, honesty and desire to help other people get back on their feet. It is brilliant to see the film and all the participants being honoured by this shortlisting and we hope for good news on Valentine’s Day when the big decision is made!”

Aisling Curran, Occupational Therapy Manager, Mental Health and Learning Disability at the Belfast Trust: “We found working with esc*productions to be a very positive experience – their expertise and sensitivity ensured that everyone felt at ease, even when talking about very personal journeys – thank you!”
