12NOW writer Claire Savage‘s debut children’s book, Magical Masquerade, is released this week.
A fantasy adventure aimed at children between 9 – 12, the e-book is available to pre-order now via Kindle, with the paperback on sale from Sunday 30th April.
Claire is holding an online launch event via Facebook to mark the occasion. She will be hosting a live Q&A this Sunday on her Facebook author page, from 12-2pm, inviting all sorts of questions on bookish and writerly things. Claire will also be reading extracts from the book, and giving insights to the characters, landscapes and story locations in the book, her writing process and inspiration. “All you have to do is click into the event on my page on Sunday during that time and say hello,” says Claire. “I’ll be answering questions about the book and my writing, as well as giving away two free copies of Magical Masquerade.”
Magical Masquerade tells the story of Felicity Stone – a ten-and-three-quarter year-old girl who’s whisked away to the Fairy Realm by an enchanted pebble. It’s a world which at first glance mirrors her own, but is full of magic, mystery and secrets. Can Felicity do what’s needed to stop the pebble thieves causing mayhem in the realm? What’s more, will she solve the three riddles that will set her free … or be trapped in Fairyland forever?
On the launch, Claire comments, “I’m looking forward to speaking with fellow book enthusiasts on Sunday and all are welcome to join in the chat! You can log in from wherever you are – at home, out and about on the North Coast, in Belfast … that’s the beauty of online events.”
There will also to be a physical book launch for Magical Masquerade in June, which will take place in Belfast, details of which will be announced by Claire next week. Lagan Online wishes Claire the very best with the book and launch. With Olive Broderick also launching her new poetry collection earlier this week, this is an exciting time for our 12NOW writers!
