Abridged poetry/art magazine makes a rare appearance in the live poetry arena with an event at Cúirt International Festival of Literature in Galway next month, featuring readings from three critically acclaimed international poets: Jacob Polley, Theresa Muñoz and Stephen Burt.
The readings will coincide with the Cúirt launch of the new issue of Abridged 0 – 49: Babel, which will include photography from the Belfast International Photo Festival. The event will be chaired by editor Gregory McCartney.
Known for its unique themes and submission calls, the Babel issues will concern “the fall-out from the reactionary combination of two elements that have become fundamental in contemporary life: post-truth and social media.” Open to poetry and art, submissions for Babel close on 24th March.
The event happens at An Taibhdhearc, Middle Street, Galway, on Saturday April 29, 6:30 pm. Visit the Cúirt Festival website for more info.
